What Caesura Does
Caesura is a personal health intelligence app designed for cancer patients and Type 1 Diabetics. It reads your Apple Health data and transforms it into actionable insights, risk alerts, and a living visual garden that reflects your wellbeing.
Data We Access
Caesura reads the following data from Apple HealthKit (with your explicit permission):
- Heart rate, HRV, resting heart rate, blood oxygen
- Steps, active energy, exercise minutes, distance
- Sleep analysis
- Blood glucose (CGM data), insulin delivery, dietary carbohydrates
- VO2 max, walking speed, walking asymmetry
Caesura never writes to HealthKit. It is read-only.
Where Your Data Goes
- On-device processing: All health alerts, vitality calculations, and risk scores are computed locally on your device.
- Supabase sync: If you use the Apple Watch companion, health metrics are synced via Supabase (encrypted in transit and at rest) so your iPhone and Mac can display Watch-collected data.
- NavigatingCare: If you choose to connect your NavigatingCare patient portal, your clinical data (lab results, medications, treatment plans) is fetched and stored locally.
- AI insights: When available, health summaries are generated using a local AI model (Ollama/Qwen). No health data is sent to external AI services.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- No analytics or tracking
- No advertising identifiers
- No third-party SDKs that collect data
- No data sold or shared with anyone, ever
Emergency Contacts
Caesura's dead-man's switch feature can send iMessages to your pre-configured emergency contacts when critical glucose alerts go unacknowledged. This uses Apple's Messages app on macOS and requires your explicit setup.
Data Retention
Your data lives on your devices and in your Supabase project (which you control). Deleting the app removes all local data. Supabase data persists until you delete it from your project.
Children's Privacy
Caesura is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
